Sporting groups in Dublin Mid West to receive over €2.7M from Sports Capital Grant

Sporting groups in Dublin Mid West will receive funding of over €2.7 million which will be hugely beneficial to members and athletes, a Fine Gael Minister has said.

Minister for Business, Employment and Retail and local TD, Emer Higgins has welcomed the allocations made today to local clubs which will be used for improvements to infrastructure such as improving playing and training facilities, astro-turfs, handball alleys, walking tracks, hurling walls, and floodlights.

“Its fantastic to see a huge variety of clubs in my area receiving funding and will come as a major boost to members. Our local clubs are at the heart of our communities and any help they receive is a great source of support to local teams and sportspeople and a boost for participation in sport” Higgins said.

“I am thrilled to welcome the significant investment of €2,773,772 into various sports and community projects. This funding is a major boost for local clubs and facilities, supporting everything from GAA, rugby, and football to golf, and athletics. It will not only help maintain and upgrade vital sports infrastructure but also ensure that people of all ages have access to quality recreational spaces,”

 

Among the local beneficiaries are:

-Beech Park Golf Club with €156,358 

-Clondalkin Rugby Football Club with €166,106 

-Coláiste Bhríde with €118,282 

-Commercials GAA Club with €157,801 

-Lucan Sarsfields GAA Club with €128,732 

-Slade Valley Golf Club with €137,702 

-South Dublin Football League with €489,089 

-St Finians GAA with €174,100 

-St Francis Football Club with €91,804 

-St Marys GFC Saggart with €157,801 

- Lucan BMX with €14,485 

- Lucan Cricket Club with €24,382  

- Lucan Harriers with €93,695
