Higgins reminds families and students in Dublin of closing date for SUSI Applications

Today, local Fine Gael TD Emer Higgins has urged families and students in Dublin Mid-West to apply for SUSI before the closing date in early November to make sure they benefit from the cost-of-living measures announced this month in Budget 2024.

“SUSI grants can make a huge difference to families of young students going to college”.

“That’s why in the Budget this month Fine Gael Minister Simon Harris announced a package of measures students would benefit from including significant increases in student grants this year and the next, for all students who are eligible and in full time undergraduate degrees”.

“The cost of going to college for many is too high and with Budget 2024 families and students are getting money back in their pockets through:

·                cuts to the student contribution fee for undergraduate students

·                significant increases in student grants

·                increased and extended renters’ tax credit

·                extended public transport fare discounts for young people

“Today I am calling on all who are eligible to get their SUSI application done before the closing date on Thursday 2nd November. There is so much for those who are eligible to benefit from and I want them to avoid having to request a late application form from SUSI after the closing date”.

“Please go to www.susi.ie to complete your application form. If you have any questions, please contact my office”.
